Finding Freedom (The land of Liberty)

I once found my FREEDOM during the years Jimmy Carter was President of these here UNITED STATES OF AMERICA! I don't know the exact point in time, but it's of no coincidence the dates are basically the same as the PEANUT FARMER'S presidential term: January 20, 1977 – January 20, 1981. You see, Jimmy Carter is and was more than a mere politician. Back in the day before we graduated from Franklin High School, James Earl Carter Jr was a PEANUT FARMER who became the President of these here United States of America. This, my friend is not where my FINDING FREEDOM story begins, but this is the place and time where the ground became no thing but fair ground for the all of me and we.

I had to be almost fourteen years of age, when the Peanut Farmer stood swearing his natural life away, on a political platform in front of a podium, placed in traditional view of we the people.

I had to be already fourteen years of age when I asked my Grand Daddy if I could plant peanuts in the Family Garden Spot on the ground that ain't no thing but fair.

The age of fourteen is what I be, when he placed the little brown burlap bag in my hands! The burlap bag was no doubt, mail ordered from The Standard Farm Store, which sadly no longer looks or gazes at the unnamed confederated solider on the Franklin Town Square.

The age of fourteen is what I be, when he placed the little brown burlap peanut seed bag in my hands. The age of fourteen is what I be, when the dusty shovel touched the land of liberty in the all of me!
